Professional
Speaking and Presentation Skills
In the
corporate environment, the individuals who represent your
company must engage in extensive conversations, presentations
and telephone calls. Professional image is created by visual,
vocal, and verbal messages. Voice quality and speaking style
should enhance our image. Pronunciation should project an
educated and polished professional. The inability to communicate
effectively with power and confidence will have a direct impact
on the company's image, result in loss of business, and decrease
productivity in the workplace.

Foreign
Accent Modification
If you
speak English as a second language, but feel you are not easily
understood, accent modification would be beneficial. The goal
is to improve your communication, not necessarily eliminate
the accent. Training focuses on pronunciation, stress and
intonation patterns, and idiomatic expressions to enhance
your overall communication.

your ability to speak effectively, is distracting to listeners,
or you wish to speak Standard American English in the workplace.

Voice
Management
Does your
voice quality match your desired image? Do listeners focus
on your "sound" rather than your message? Do
you experience vocal difficulties (hoarseness, fatigue)
after
extensive talking? You can learn to optimize your vocal technique
to create a powerful and confident image.

Telephone Skills Training
Successfully Speaking: Telephone Skills Workshop
Many individuals in customer service departments utilize scripts to standardize
information, but lack the skills to “converse” with the customer
through effective use of diction, pausing, stress, and intonation. Effective
communication and vocal skills will enhance customer satisfaction. Telephone
skills training is designed for employees whose work responsibilities
include telephone communication. Individuals will benefit from this training
if they experience any of the following:
- Does it sound like the employee is reading from a script?
- Does their
voice project a lack of confidence or patience?
- Is it difficult for customers to hear what they are saying?
- Does their voice trail-off at the ends of sentences?
- Does their voice have a flat, boring tone?
- Do they speak too quickly or too slowly?
- Does their voice fatigue easily?
This workshop is designed to provide practical information about the
effective use of the voice with hands-on exercises led by a corporate
communication trainer with a certification in speech-language pathology.
Clinical Treatment
Individual treatment is also available to focus on pronunciation (articulation),
language (grammar), fluency (stuttering), tongue thrust, or swallowing
difficulties. Speech and language disorders associated with stroke, head
trauma, or progressive neurological diseases (Parkinsonism) are also addressed. |
